Why North Carolina Needs Local Hemp: The Real Cost of Corporate Monopolies

, ,

At Rocky River Hemp, we aren’t just selling CBD; we are growing a North Carolina agricultural tradition. Founded by a father-and-son team, Rick and Sam Brownfield and expanded to include Katie Brownfield as head of products, in 2018, our business was built on the idea of creating a viable, local enterprise in Chatham County.

We handle almost the entire process right here on our family farm (except for Full Spectrum CBD Extraction, that’s beyond our ability, our fine friends at the lab do that part)—from clone to bottle. We don’t white-label, we don’t outsource manufacturing, and we never cut corners with isolates or mystery-brand ingredients. When sweeping regulations and corporate monopolies try to take over the cannabis market, they threaten small farms like ours that employ locals and keep tax dollars in the state.

We’ve poured our time and effort into building a brand here because we want to keep the work in Chatham County and North Carolina. When you buy from out-of-state mega-corporations, you lose the transparency of knowing exactly where your hemp comes from.

Support local agriculture and transparent farming. Check out our honest, small-batch products on the Rocky River Hemp website and experience the difference of farm-to-door quality.
